Training and Placement Cell is an integral part of the institute. The institute has provided complete infrastructure for effective functioning of the cell. Training activities are organized throughout the year in an effort towards preparing the students for the campus selection programmes. The cell keeps on inviting various industries and reputed firms for campus recruitment. It modules the engineering & management grades to young corporals. The cell is sensitized to function all through the year towards generating placement and training opportunities for the students. Reputed industrial houses across the country visit our institute regularly for the campus recruitment programmes. The cell maintains a very cordial relationship with all the recruiting industries and also prepares the recruited candidates to face the competitive world.
The students of final year are expected to participate in a Placement Orientation Programme and only those students, who fulfill the eligibility criteria as laid down are permitted to participate in the Campus Recruitment Programme (CRP). The eligibility criteria are declared well in advance and the students are meticulously guided in the Placement Orientation
A comprehensive tie up with the corporate world provides the institution the opportunity to organize regular visits to business houses and companies so that the students not only gain experience of what they have learnt but also acquaint themselves with the functional and environmental culture of different organizations. Frequent industrial visits are organized for the students in diverse industries to expose them to the industrial work culture and environment.
Various renowned companies like BHEL, HCL, ARMY AVIATION, MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA, SURYA ROSHNI, SAIL, CADBURY INDIA PVT. LTD. VRS FOODS, ESCORTS, COIRFOAM etc. have been visited.
In addition to our full time and part time faculty, eminent professionals from business, industry and academics are invited to address students on regular basis. These guest speakers bring with them not only long years of experience and knowledge but also the latest trends in business management for the holistic development of students.
Keeping pace with the fast changing economic and political scenario across the country is the key factor of success for any upcoming manager. Hence participation in seminars, workshops by practicing managers is a step forward in direction as it not only updates his knowledge but also expands horizon of his vision by cross fertilization of ideas from different experts.
Students are encouraged to actively participate in inter-college contests. The Institute has already taken membership of All India Management Association and Confederation of Indian Industry.
SRGI will periodically organize Workshops for skill development viz. presentation skills, group discussion & interview skills etc. These workshops play an important role in the overall personality development of the student thereby enhancing the student’s career prospects.
All SRGI students undergo summer training/internships which help them to hone knowledge of the industry. This industry exposure helps them bridge the gap between classroom learning and market realities. Feedback from the respective organization helps students identify their strengths as well as areas of improvement.
Are designed to offer students valuable practical experience and live exposure to the corporate world. It provides them with a perfect platform to relate classroom learning to the reality of a live business environment. These project studies are undertaken in different parts of the country in growth oriented companies.
To bridge the gap between classroom learning and the demands of dynamic business situations, a mentorship programme is put in place. This programme is designed to act like a backbone all through the semester. Faculty and alumni are appointed as mentors for groups of students, who guide the students in their activities on campus and their project outside. Mentors help in bringing a touch of foresight and reality to the course and career objectives of the students.
SRGI has tie-ups with Corporates for co-administering certain portions of the academic curricula, and sometimes beyond the course curriculum. This is done with a view to enrich the practical knowledge of students with respect to current business trends and practices in their domain areas, apart from imparting specialized academic knowledge. HCL is an academic partner for the execution of various Hardware and Software training modules for B.Tech students of SRGI. Two dedicated labs with a capacity of approx. 35 students each are setup for the training.
The curriculum, of course, is designed by the company itself keeping in mind the need of the hour as well as the future objectives. The software training is conducted in the fields of net, Java and SQL, and the hardware training comprises of Wi-Fi, networking and most importantly Redhat technology (based on Linux). HCL itself designs the courseware for the students, which is provided to them on timely basis.
The interaction with the trainers gives an insight to the students and clears all their apprehensions in context to the training and the requirements of the industry. Besides training the students, HCL absorbs the students once they acquire the degree and the HCL certification. Hence, training makes it easier for the college to provide them lucrative job opportunities, based on their skill set and performance.
This tie up helps to deliver instructor led Oracle Training leading to certifications (OCP). The objective of this program is to enable students to have an access to Oracle authorized training at a low cost. Workforce Development program exposes the students to Oracle University courseware and training CDs during the program. This also helps the students to get awarded with certificates, which are clear differentiators from their peers, when looking for jobs.

The SRGI has joined hands with CADD Centre to impart training on AutoCAD to the civil engineering students with an objective of teaching the Autocad in detail and comprehensive mode. Certificates are provided to the students after the successful completion of the course. The goal of the tie-up is to upgrade and enhance the technical skills and provide a competitive edge to the students. This training provides the flexibility, depth of functionality and power to address a variety of surveying and engineering project types, including site development, subdivision design, road rehabilitation, highway and rail design, environment and many others. This training equips students with the state-of-the-art technology, in the field of design.

Selling can be made easy with the right tools and a flexible structure to guide the process, and this was exactly what was done in Selling Skills Program conducted by Global Sequel Consulting.
The aim of this program was to provide MBA students the knowledge in sensitive selling, skills and strategies to accomplish the goal. In this process, the actual selling is done during a strategically designed consulting process structured around identifying obvious and hidden needs, making a tailor made product proposition & closing strategies. Series of the workshops were conducted on Selling and negotiation skills transforming students into future managers.

In LET’S GET EFFECTIVE program by Step Consulting Pvt. Ltd. students were encouraged to experiment and draw their own conclusions.
